Muslim American soldier murders US Officer

Reuter (www.reuters.com) reports that an American Muslim soldier has turned against his fellow soldiers and murdered one officer and injured 15:

The U.S. military on Sunday identified a soldier held on suspicion of a fatal grenade attack on his comrades in Kuwait and military sources said he may have acted out of anger over the war with Iraq.

A 27-year-old captain, Christopher Scott Seifert, was killed and 15 servicemen wounded early on Sunday in the attack on a tented command area at Camp Pennsylvania, the rear base for the 1st Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division.

George Heath, a spokesman for Fort Campbell in Kentucky, the division's home base, said the suspect had been identified as Army Sgt. Asan Akbar. [...] One military source, who did not wish to be identified, said of Akbar: "He's a Muslim, and it seems he was just against the war."

Another U.S. military source said the assault appeared to have been well planned, with the suspect first knocking out a generator that supplied electricity to the three tents, and then lobbing in the grenades.

The suspect was also alleged to have opened fire with his rifle before he was tackled and detained when found hiding in a bunker. Akbar, who is from an engineering unit, had apparently been attached to the division for a few months.

This is one of the reasons Israeli Muslims are not required to serve in the Israeli military. On a related story, Little Green Footballs (www.littlegreenfootballs.com) had reported yesterday on how certain American Muslims leaders have called for similar actions in the past:

I always thought (and still think) it's a great idea to join the US ground forces for a simple reason: they're all getting shipped off to the Middle East for FREE! So, you go there, free, with US equipment and weapons, yada yada yada, then when you get there, you change sides and fight the kufar! After changing your uniform of course! And while you're at it, you can sabotage some of their stuff from the inside!

Aaah, just some thoughts that are coming to my mind!

'UNBELIEVABLE'

The attack took place around 1:30 a.m. just as members of the 101st Airborne Division, a famed fighting force that specializes in rapid air assault advances, was preparing to move into Iraq to join the U.S. and British invasion force.

"It is just unbelievable. It's terroristic, it truly is," said Captain James McGahey.

"Everybody is a bit jumpy, edgy. You never want, especially at a time like this, to have to think whether you can trust the guy to your left or your right."

A spokesman for the 101st Airborne, Major Hugh Cate, said three of the wounded underwent surgery and the other 12 were only slightly wounded.

Time magazine correspondent Jim Lacey, who witnessed the attack, described scenes of what he called chaos and carnage when the grenades exploded, saying soldiers thought they had come under Iraqi missile attack and pulled on gas masks.

Asalamu Alikum Wa Rahmatu Allah Wa Barakatu,

I'm the president of our university's MSA, and I can relate! But the problem here is that, besides the small number of Muslims on campus, Muslims are both lazy and ignorant about Islam. And there's this Muslim guy I know (I'm quite positive he's a Muslim) who comes from Morocco, and one time I went to his apartment and he had a whiskey bottle on his desk, and always slips away from me when I tell him I'm heading to the Jumaah Prayer which alhamdulilah we're now holding on campus.

May Allah guide them all to the Straight Path of His.

Here's some things we've done and are doing this semester:
- Held a Ramadan Dinner "Breakfast" on campus, inviting media and other people to raise their awareness of both Ramadan and fasting.

- Featured an "Islam Awareness Week" that featured Muslim imaams and a Muslim convert.

- Hold some kind of sale (cookie, whatever) and hand out pamphlets as well as show a movie about Islam in a spot on campus that has a lot of people walking by. Try to feature a movie about Islam at the same time (The Message is always a good choice!)

- Create an attractive website on the school's server that ONLY speaks about Islam, that's important! Don't try to compare Islam with Christianity, or point out the contradictions in the Bible and so on. Just give the beautiful picture of Islam. Period.

- Hold weekly meetings with interested non-Muslims where you talk about Islam, etc. It's important that you put flyers around campus on bulletin boards to announce your room's location (if you don't have a room reserved for your MSA, get one!), your website's address, e-mail (get one for MSA if not by now!). It's better to print the flyers on bright paper (preferably yellow) as it was proven sceintifically that it attracts a lot of attention.

- Invite speakers from around the states (there's Sheikh Yusef Estes, a Muslim convert who used to be a Christain PREACHER that we're hoping we can get here!).

I hope that will get your MSA more active, but then it all depends on the size of your MSA.

Cookie sales, movies, attractive websites, what’s not to like? The same sort of activities any campus organization engages in, right?

I don't think we should call the Zionists Nazis, because that would just make them proud. After all, they did rule all 95% of Europe and Northern Africa at one time. It's like calling a homeless beggar a CEO or something like that!

Outright sedition, from a campus Muslim leader; another obvious glaring sign that the infiltration of radical Islamists into US society is much farther along than anyone wants to believe or admit. The sheer incompetence is almost funny, though; even as he advocates murder and treason, he signs his posts “Big Brother is Watching You!”
