Tens of thousands Palestinians demonstrated Friday throughout the West Bank and Gaza to protest the American-led attack on Iraq.

American flags were burned and the protestors called for Saddam to bomb Tel Aviv with chemical weapons. "Death to America, death to Bush," some demonstrators in Gaza shouted. "We will sacrifice our souls and our blood for Saddam."

The New York Times reported that, in Gaza City, the pro-Iraqi Arab Liberation front distributed checks for $10,000 that Saddam Hussein sent to 21 families of Palestinians killed fighting against Israel. The Iraqi leader, the Times reported, has sent more than $35 million to the families of "martyrs" since the Palestinian violence began thirty months ago. The families of suicide bombers have received $25,000.

The average Palestinian family makes $400 per year - $25,000 is a fortune in Palestinian terms. No wonder Saddam Hussein is so popular among homicide bombers from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas.

In 1991, during the Gulf war, Yasser Arafat and the Palestinians completely supported Iraq and the butcher from Baghdad. Many Palestinians were seen dancing on their roofs as Iraq launched dozens of missiles at Israeli cities.

Tens of thousands Palestinians demonstrated Friday throughout the West Bank and Gaza to protest the American-led attack on Iraq.

The demonstrations, which occurred after Friday prayers, featured Iraqi flags, posters supporting Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden, and opposing the U.S. and Israel.

Israel police said there were no injuries in the clashes, although Palestinians reported several people lightly injured by tear gas. Palestinians also reported that police used stun grenades to disperse rioting crowds.

There were protests on the Temple Mount, from which worshippers streamed to the Damascus Gate. On arriving there, they clashed with police and blocked the main Salah a-Din Street.

The Palestinian protesters also condemned Arab leaders, including President Mubarak of Egypt, King Abdullah of Jordan, and the rulers of the Gulf states, calling them "dogs and traitors."

Officials from the Palestinian Authority were not seen participating in the protests in Gaza, but no effort was made to remove pictures of Bin Laden, as Palestinian police did during protests after September 11.

Hamas calls for Iraqi suicide missions against coalition
The Islamic terror group Hamas urged Iraqis on Friday to carry out suicide bombings against U.S. and British forces in Iraq. "Iraqis should prepare explosive belts and would-be martyrs (suicide bombers) to combat the U.S. occupiers," senior leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi told Reuters in Gaza .

"The American aggressors, the American invaders are now on Iraqi soil, therefore, Iraqis must confront them with all possible means, including martyrdom operations," Rantisi said.
