Flag burning radical leftist dies in tragic accident
Honest Reporting (www.honestreporting.com) informs us about the tragic accidental death of an American anti-Israeli protester in Gaza:
Rachel Corrie, burns an
American flag in Gaza
American college student Rachel Corrie was tragically killed on Sunday when she fell down as an IDF bulldozer destroyed a house in Gaza. The bulldozer was part of an operation to eliminate tunnels used by Palestinian terrorists to illegally smuggle weapons from Egypt into Gaza. I copy the rest of the article below. HonestReporting Communique Dear HonestReporting Member, American college student Rachel Corrie was tragically killed on Sunday when she fell down as an IDF bulldozer destroyed a house in Gaza. The bulldozer was part of an operation to eliminate tunnels used by Palestinian terrorists to illegally smuggle weapons from Egypt into Gaza. Corrie apparently stood atop a mound of dirt as the bulldozer approached the house, but then fell backward, tumbling down the mound and out of sight. The bulldozer continued and accidentally crushed her. The IDF Spokesman said that soldiers repeatedly warned demonstrators to keep a safe distance. Corrie was a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement. She was known for anti-Israel and anti-American activities, as this photo from Gaza (http://www.honestreporting.com/graphics/articles/corrie.jpg) shows Corrie burning an American flag, while Palestinian children look on. (In general, we wonder on what basis the International Solidarity Movement justifies shielding a house used for weapons smuggling.) The Washington Post 1) soldiers driving an armored bulldozer have limited visibility because of the narrow window. 2) One of the ISM founders admits the protesters might not have been as disciplined in their protest as they should have been. Most media reports failed to mention that the IDF bulldozer was looking for smuggling tunnels. Instead, reports described the house sympathetically as "the home of a Gazan doctor." And the entire mainstream media neglected to mention Corrie's anti-American activities and flag-burning. HonestReporting encourages members to monitor your local media to see how they are reporting the circumstances of Corrie's unfortunate death, and her personal background. How can anyone feel sorry for an anti-Semitic bigot like Corrie? Her death is not even tragic, but a direct result of her racist incitement against Israel and its people. Posted by: David Beckham on March 17, 2003 11:38 AMan american?!?! I think not! Test Posted by: Zammy on April 4, 2003 10:10 AMIn reading this story from different extreme viewpoints. I can see how the truth will never be known. I do find it very hard to exept that the driver carries no blame. In almost any other situation - an incident of this nature would find the driver of the bulldozer negligent at best. I do know what witnesses had to say about this incident. I don't know what the driver had to say. Perhaps he was not a witness. That would make him negligent. If he were a witness - A murderer. Under the considerations of situation there. The driver has an even greater responsibility to be more aware than ever to be all the more careful. A few questions. Was the driver tested for blood alcohol? What is his version? What were his orders? Are ther any other pictures besides the ones of the protestors? Rachel Corrie was a 23 year old American WASP from an upper class family. She gave her life to protect the innocent Palestinians. Israel is an apartheid state and must be ordered back to the 1967 borders in full compliance with UN resolution 242. In addition for the majority of the world's Christians, the state of Israel is of little importance. The church is Israel. We are living under the new covenant. Christianity has replaced Judaism. This is basic Christianity and is known as Replacement Theology or Supersessionism. Christians are now God's chosen people. Posted by: C on April 7, 2003 04:48 PMThe picture of Rachel Corrie shows before and, supposedly, after shots. Oddly, the young terrorist-abetter doesn't look very "bulldozed" does she? You'd think she'd be much flatter. The whole story hasn't come out yet, but there are reports that these types of incidents have happened before and that the "activists" (i.e. criminals) usually scuttle into the house in a vain attempt to stop the destruction. Reports indicate that a wall fell on the poor wretch, which fractured her skull. The photos seem to point to this, as a 20 ton bulldozer would surely render a human into meat paste. Regrettable? Perhaps. But the stupidity (not bravery) of this woman should surely prevent any more deluded wannabe jihadis from repeating her actions. Good riddance. I'm deeply disturbed by the tone of people's comments here. A bright, passionate young woman was crushed, as she saw it, trying to stop a house from being bulldozed. It just so happens that she held opinions that were different from yours. Does that make her death any less tragic or her parents' grief any less painful? Have you people completely lost your humanity, your compassion? Have you become so blinded by your fear and anger that you can't see the sanctity of every human being? If that happens, the cycle of violence and hatred will never stop. And even if Israel wins this "war," the cost will be our humanity. Are you prepared to pay that price? Posted by: Max on April 14, 2003 07:31 AMRachel Corrie's death is, don't get me wrong, a tragedy. But knowing the Lord God as I do - I speak as a Gentile Christian, have been ever since I was Born Again at the age of 15 - God is a God of justice, and is not mocked. To clarify: that Corrie was known for anti-Israel and anti-american activities, as the article states is in fact a lot more dire than her actual physical death. Those of you who know what Genesis Ch12 v3 of the Bible says will understand what I mean. It is a most incredible fact that nations, institutions and individuals have risen and fallen on that fraction of a verse alone. The Lord clearly said to Abraham: I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee. Enough said - this is why I take blessing Israel ha shem Yahshua Ha Maschiach very seriously indeed. Incidentally, anyone reading this I would exhort to come and make your peace - Shalom - with The Lord God, and that is only possible through Yahshua, accepting his supreme sacrifice for our sins on the Cross and then following him. Posted by: Paul Brock on December 3, 2003 10:20 AMThe moral of this report:DO NOT MESS WITH JEHOVAH ! Posted by: Tom Peter on February 20, 2004 08:14 PMI am saddened by the responses to this article. I find these comments embarrassing, as an American Christian. Where is love for your neighbor that Jesus taught to us (whether it be Rachel or a Palestinian)? We are all part of one world family and we must work together for peace. How anyone can be so hateful is beyond me. We must work to deepen our compassion and sense of justice. We must work for peace for all, whether Israeli or Palestinian, conservative or republican. Such comments as those above, cast in me great doubt of the good and natural compassion, that I hope lives within human-kind. Posted by: Suzie on December 2, 2004 09:53 AMCaterpillar shareholders voted 97% to 3% against a resolution that CAT should stop selling construction equipment to Israel. Who voted were the 3% you might ask? The 3% were terrorist sympathizers who bought Caterpillar stock just so they could lose the referendum! Bwa ha ha ha ha! If you want to defeat terrorism, buy American. :) Posted by: Marcus on April 15, 2005 05:38 AMHer death was tragic, but she was interfering with anti-terrorist operations conducted by the Israeli Defense Force. This woman was either totally misguided and naive, or she detested Israel and her own country, the United States of America. Since this rather foolish individual openly burned an American flag in gaza, I don't imagine she loved her country at all. Did she ever express any sympathy for the many innocent Israeli men, women and kids who were brutally killed by terrorist organizations like HAMAS? Frankly, I doubt it. Posted by: RM on July 23, 2007 01:44 AMBurning the American flag was she? Good, I hope her death was fucking long and painful Don't give me that love your neighbor crap, her death was obviously part of God's plan. Posted by: Decimal on April 30, 2010 12:29 PMPost a comment
