France and Germany are the new "Axis of Weasels"
France has recently declared that it will oppose any military action to stop Iraq from getting nuclear weapons and to prevent the butcher from Baghdad from killing millions. ScrappleFace has the latest remarks from US Secretary of Defense, Donal Rumsfeld, on this French faux-pas: Rumsfeld Sorry for 'Axis of Weasels' Remark (2003-01-22) -- U.S. Secretary Defense Donald Rumsfeld apologized today for referring to France and Germany as an "Axis of Weasels." Please note that the above article is sarcastic - US Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld has never accused France or Germany to form the "Axis of Weasels". Too bad. :-) Comments
I would rather say, Rummy has never APOLOGISED for calling them the Axis of Weasels. Posted by: parallel on January 23, 2003 09:35 PMFrance and Germany have fundamentally a good thing going here - the desire for peace. But the way how they present it politically is disgraceful, especially in the case of Germany, where Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder shamlessly exploited these feelings to win an election (September 2002). It's sad, but I agree that they indeed behave like weasels. Posted by: Michael on January 24, 2003 05:42 AMI'd say the USA and Iraq form the axis of evil. Both have non-elected chairmen. Of course, it's only sarcasm... Posted by: Christian on March 16, 2003 10:29 AMI don't think it is sarcasm. Posted by: Weasel on April 17, 2003 06:44 AMHeh heh! Theres only one problem, an axis has to have three members. Slide Russia in there and you have yourself an axis.
