Canada is considering a request to Lebanon to recall its ambassador to Ottawa, after he was quoted as alleging that Jews control 90 percent of the Canadian news media, the Edmonton Journal reports.

Raymond Baaklini, who has served as Lebanon's ambassador to Canada for two-and-a-half years, was summoned to the Canadian Foreign Ministry on Friday after alleging in a newspaper interview, that Jewish control of the media was behind Ottawa's recent decision to ban support for the Lebanese-based terrorist group Hizbullah.

"I wanted to say exactly that 90% of the mass media in Canada is controlled by Jews or Zionists, and those Jews and Zionists, they are also supported by other organizations in the States," Baaklini said in an interview with an Arabic-language newspaper published on December 31.

There are many in the Arab/Muslims world that hold similar racist views. The hostility and hate towards Jews has reached a high in the Arab/Muslim communities where plots of world domination and "Jews drinking Muslim blood" are common myths distributed by these new Nazis.

Our luck is that thanks to Arafat's rejection of peace in October of 2000, we are now more aware of this barbaric hate of Jews coming from the West Bank and Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and other Arab/Muslim countries.

The Canadian government and Jewish organizations strongly condemned Baaklini's remarks. Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham said the comments were "extremely troubling."

"The suggestion that the decision about Hizbullah was made because of pressure of any group within Canada is wrong," Graham said. "It was a decision that was made that was based upon security for Canadians and their security needs."

Keith Landy, president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, said: "Not only are such comments insulting to Canada and Canadian values, they are also actionable under Canadian human rights legislation and the Criminal Code, but for diplomatic immunity."
