Muslim Court in Nigeria sentences woman to death by stoning
ABC News Australia (abc.net.au) reports that a Muslim court from Nigeria sentenced a woman to death by stoning: Nigerian court upholds woman's stoning sentence http://abc.net.au/news/newsitems/s653228.htm This is almost as bad as what happens in Saudi Arabia - see for example "Saudi Arabia cuts off hands of two thieves" and "Saudi Arabia finances Palestinian genocide bombers". I am aghast at the way this young woman is treated. How can one life be taken because another is created? One can be exiled because of another's beliefs, but to put to death a mother who gives life to a child is unthinkable. I am horrified. Posted by: Carole Stoker on November 6, 2002 03:58 PMCarole, I agreee, basic human rights, Democracy and freedom seem to be incompatbile with Islamic regimes. Just so you know, I followed up with another article on this issue - check it out at: Help reverse Islamic court's sentencing of woman to death by stoning I am nigerian, and i am appalled that something like this can actually happen in a place i am from. It is embarassing and cruel. It just shows how backward and narrow minded the people are and obviosly the jusdges and prosecuting lawyers are oblivious to the term, justice.
