Glykeria, Greek superstar, supports the killing of unarmed civilians, including kids and babies
In my previous post ("13 Palestinian terrorists enjoy paid vacation in European countries") we learned that Palestinian killers from the Islamic Jihad, the Hamas and the Al-Aksa brigades (Arafat's terrorist group) are enjoying a paid vacation in different European countries. I was very surprised to see that two of them, Mohammed Muhannah(22) and Mamdouh Al Wardian(23), a known Hamas member, were treated as "guests of honor" in a concert given by Glykeria, a Greek singer. Hamas is a Palestinian terrorist organization whose goal is to destroy the State of Israel and replace it with an Islamic Palestinian State. It is responsible for dozens of terrorist attacks against unarmed civilians, including kids and babies. I decided to tell Glykeria what I thought of her support of such barbaric acts and wrote her a message. To contact Glykeria yourself, click here. For more on the victims of Palestinian terrorism, including dozens of kids and babies burned and killed by the Hamas, see http://www.walk4israel.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=Victims For more information on Hamas, see http://library.nps.navy.mil I copy my message below. From: David Melle The German newspaper Die Welt has reported that Palestinian terrorists from the group Hamas have appeared as "front-row guests of honor at a concert given by pop superstar Glykeria". I am disgusted that Glykeria would have terrorists who have killed unarmed civilians, including kids and babies, as "guests of honor". Hamas is a Palestinian terrorist organization whose goal is to destroy the State of Israel and replace it with an Islamic Palestinian State. Such a state would be against woman's rights, extremely racist and anti-semitic and a threat to anyone who supports democracy. The appearance of these Palestinian barbaric thugs from the Hamas in one of your concerts puts in question the moral fiber of Glykeria and Greece as a whole. Disgusted, David Melle For the original article in German see http://www.welt.de/daten/2002/06/28/0628au341017.htx For an English translation see http://www.usefulwork.com/shark/archives/000063.html For victims of Palestinian terrorism, including dozens of kids and babies burned and killed by the Hamas, see http://www.walk4israel.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=Victims For more information on Hamas, see http://library.nps.navy.mil To contact Glykeria yourself, click here. Considering Glykeria is so very popular in Israel, and has a hit song in HEBREW on Israeli radio at the moment, this is really strange. Posted by: Imshin J on June 30, 2002 07:47 PMConsidering Glykeria is so very popular in Israel, and has a hit song in HEBREW on Israeli radio at the moment, this is really strange. Posted by: Imshin J on June 30, 2002 07:49 PMdoes anyone know who sings the Israeli version of the song Superstar? please email I never even heard of glyceria, sounds like a disease, and if that is true about them they deserve such a name. keep up the good work, Just because you like someones work, music, art whatever it be - you must respect this person - not judge them - it is not fair for that reason to monitor and condemn their actions because u do not like them. Posted by: - on April 5, 2005 04:35 AMGlykeria is popular all over europe and middle east. U shouldn't judge Glykeria herself since u say that u like her. Actually, u don't know even if it was her own choice, these two guys to b at her concert. If u want to judge these two guys ...do it for them although we don't have any proofs for anything.Let the authorities do this job unless if u knew them in personally and u knew exactly what they have done in their lives. Yeah of course it is very bad killing ppl....but it is bad for both sides and not only for one. Why here they don't do anything and they have never hurt not even a bird....? With all my respect at ur feelings... Margy PC. Actually i don't believe that u like Glykeria as a singer.....cause if u liked her u would respect her and u wouldn't judge her like this with ur letter. Can anyone tell me any good place for diving in Israel pls ..?:) Margy :) Posted by: on September 21, 2005 12:11 AMhi. i am from australia and i grew up listening to glykeria. i think that you have accused her of the very things she dispises! if you ever listen to her lyrics in greek and hebrew (im sure you dont), you will see she is a woman who loves peace. she sings of suffering, of love, of loss and of prosperity. she loves all people who respect others. she loves israel, she loves greece, she loves turkey, she loves india she loves america she loves all (there are good and bad people in every culture) in fact, she is one of the most beautiful humans on earth. she is intelegent and wise (she is not a greek pop singer like anna vissi, she is a folk/blues singer - mind you) be carefull what you say! your accusations that she supports these acts ("supports the killing of unarmed civilians, including kids and babies") is actually LIBEL, and nonsense. she has never said she supports them (hamas), so don't make these associations! do you have proof that these thugs were even there? did she herself invite them there? how many concerts have you been to? the singer never chooses who goes, if they have paid there ticket to hear her sing, then that is what will happen. it is her job to sing. you should be greatful that this singer has shown so much respect and love to israel that she has translated some (almost sacred) greek rembetika songs to hebrew - for 400 years the greeks suffered under the ottoman turks, the fight for their freedom and the later constantinoupolis and smyrni disaster in the 19th and early 20th century is reflective of how the jews suffered in the 20th century. her music reflects the pain which is the common link with jew and greek and infact anyone who is suffering. her music allows us to reflect and also to heal. respect those who respect you and respect peace. do not judge so easily in future, if anything i think you should apologise to her if you really did e-mail her, or at least post a pardon! "mehri na vroume ourano" is my favourite song of hers in both languages. lol David Posted by: David on December 12, 2005 05:23 AMbravo David you said it very well. Maybe you will make me feel better We may be different in religion but we suffered very simirally. I really appreciate your comments on the way you posted. Peace to you Posted by: eladitsa on March 12, 2007 10:23 PMWELL DONE DAVID ALSO THE GREEKS RISKED THEIR LIVES TO SAVE MANY JEWS DURING NAZI TIMES BY FORGING PAPERS AND DOCUMENTS TO MAKE THEM PASS AS GREEK SO THE NAZIS WOULD LET THEM GO.
