Israel arrests Palestinian terrorist responsible for the murder of Mother and 3 of her sons
The Jerusalem Post (www.jpost.com) reports that the IDF (Israel's army) has arrested Mahmoud Issa, a senior member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Issa is believed to have been involved in the terrorist attack in Itamar last week in which Rahel Shabu, three of her three sons, and resident Yosef Twitto were shot and killed in cold blood. He is also believed to have been involved in the suicide bomb attack in the Netanya market, other suicide bombings, and shooting attacks against Israeli citizens. He was handed over to the Shin Bet for questioning. To learn more about the Palestinian terrorist attack on Itamar, check "Palestinian terrorist kills Israeli mother and 3 of her children, including a 5-year-old boy". I copy the full article below. Terrorist suspected in Itamar attack caught Mahmoud Issa, a senior member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was arrested by Israeli security forces in Nablus yesterday morning. Elsewhere, troops arrested more than 30 Palestinian fugitives in Dura, west of Hebron, in the past 24 hours, and seven Palestinian fugitives were arrested in Tubas, southeast of Jenin. The IDF continued its sweep as part of Operation Determined Path in Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarm, Kalkilya, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Hebron, and in surrounding villages and refugee camps. The only Palestinian town that has not been taken over by IDF troops in the current offensive is Jericho. Palestinians reported that Bassam Saudi, six, was killed by IDF gunfire in the Jenin refugee camp yesterday and that a 12-year-old boy was wounded. According to Palestinian reports, the two were throwing stones at troops when they were hit. The IDF Spokesman made no comment on the incident. Four bombs were detonated near soldiers in Nablus and the nearby Balata refugee camp, but no one was wounded and no damage reported. A bomb was detonated harmlessly near soldiers deployed at Rachel's Tomb early yesterday evening. In the Gaza Strip, shots were fired at IDF posts near Gadid and Atzmona in Gush Katif. In both cases soldiers returned fire. Near the Egyptian border, security forces blew up a tunnel used to smuggle weapons to the PA areas. The IDF Spokesman said the tunnel was five meters deep and its walls were supported with wooden boards. The tunnel was in an area designated by the Oslo accords for military installations and under Israeli security control. In recent months a number of tunnels have been destroyed by security forces in the area. Comments
